The ACT Criminal Justice Statistical Profile (the Profile) is a historical series of quarterly crime data that is compiled by the Legislation and Policy Branch of the ACT Justice and Community Safety Directorate and then tabled in the Legislative Assembly. It provides a quarterly update of trends in recorded crime offences in the Australia Capital Territory. The Profile contains data from ACT Policing, ACT Law Courts, ACT Corrective Services, the Restorative Justice Unit and the Office of Children, Youth and Family Support including juvenile justice data for the previous three months.
The data provides an indication of the varying levels of crime in the ACT for Government, community agencies and the public.
For the first half of 2013, the Legislation and Policy Branch has expanded its ongoing review of the content and presentation of the Profile by conducting a consultation process with Government and community stakeholders.
It is anticipated that the first Profile of the 2013-14 financial year, September 2013, will incorporate revised content and presentation from the review.
